About the Trust

The John Laing Charitable Trust has been supporting charities since 1962. From small community groups to large national institutions, the Trustees’ aim is to support organisations that have effective work streams which will contribute to achieving a lasting impact, aligned with our strategic aims. As a pro-active funder, we can only respond to proposals we have requested.

Our Mission

The Trust’s mission is to care for the welfare of existing and former employees of John Laing, and to work with others in the community to improve the lives of those in need.

Our Strategic Priorities

Community

Our strategic aim is to support people facing financial hardship, isolation, and marginalisation by strengthening community-based services.

Young People

Our strategic aim is to empower young people facing disadvantage, and support pathways to education, training, employment and skills for life towards independence.

Skills and Education

Our strategic aim is to improve access to education and employability skills for people facing greater barriers, particularly in areas of high deprivation.

Homelessness

Our strategic aim is to help end the cycle of homelessness by supporting holistic services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including long-term accommodation models.
